Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia expands licensed capacity in Al Khobar to 150 beds

UAE—Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia has secured regulatory approval to expand the licensed capacity of Cambridge Hospital Al Khobar from 100 to 150 beds, representing a 50% increase as the company continues to strengthen its specialist post-acute healthcare network across the Kingdom.

The expansion raises the group’s total licensed capacity in Saudi Arabia to 420 beds and represents another milestone in its long-term growth strategy.

Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia expects its licensed capacity to approach 500 beds once ongoing expansion projects at Cambridge Hospital Jeddah are completed and additional beds at Cambridge Hospital Dhahran receive regulatory approval.

Expanding specialist healthcare services

Since entering the Saudi market, Cambridge Health Group has invested more than SAR500 million (US$133.3 million) to establish and expand specialist post-acute healthcare services.

The investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation under Vision 2030 while addressing the growing demand for rehabilitation, long-term care, and complex continuing care services.

The investment programme has included the establishment of Cambridge Hospital Al Khobar, as well as the opening and subsequent expansion of Cambridge Hospital Dhahran.

In addition, the company has undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment and expansion of Cambridge Hospital Jeddah, transforming it into a 200-bed specialist healthcare facility.

Construction is also underway on a further 70-bed expansion at the Jeddah hospital. The project will increase inpatient capacity while introducing new outpatient and surgical services to broaden access to specialist care.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia plans to add more licensed beds at Cambridge Hospital Dhahran as part of its continued investment across the Kingdom.

Today, the company operates Saudi Arabia’s largest dedicated specialist post-acute healthcare network, providing integrated long-term care, rehabilitation, ventilator care, home healthcare, and outpatient services to patients across the Eastern and Western Provinces.

Khalid Gama, Chairman of Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia, described Saudi Arabia as a strategic market for Cambridge Health Group and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector.

He noted that the group has invested more than SAR500 million (US$133.3 million) in recent years to expand specialist post-acute healthcare services, underscoring its confidence in the Saudi market and its long-term commitment to supporting patients, families, and the broader healthcare system.

Gama added that as demand for rehabilitation and long-term care continues to rise, the company will continue to invest in clinical capacity, specialist services, and healthcare infrastructure to improve access to high-quality care while supporting the objectives of Vision 2030.

Dr. Mohammed Halawani, Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Health Saudi Arabia, said the expansion of Cambridge Hospital Al Khobar represents another significant step in strengthening the company’s specialist post-acute healthcare network across the Kingdom.
