Pharmakina completes Africa CDC prequalification for regional pharmaceutical procurement

DRC—Pharmakina has been confirmed for onboarding as a registered manufacturer under the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (APPM) after successfully completing the Africa CDC prequalification process.
The development is expected to give the Democratic Republic of the Congo-based pharmaceutical manufacturer access to a regional procurement platform aimed at strengthening the supply of medicines produced in Africa.
Supporting African pharmaceutical production
The APPM is designed to bring African countries and manufacturers together through pooled procurement, creating opportunities for local pharmaceutical companies to access larger and more predictable markets.
For manufacturers, participation can support production planning and investment, while health systems may benefit from more coordinated procurement and supply arrangements.
Pharmakina said its participation reflects its longstanding focus on pharmaceutical production in the DRC.
