The acquisition includes MacroGenics’ biologics drug substance manufacturing facility in Rockville, Maryland, as well as a warehousing center in Frederick, Maryland, located about 30 miles away.

In addition, the investment will strengthen research into emerging treatment areas such as heart failure and renal denervation, a minimally invasive therapy for uncontrolled hypertension.

The acquisition follows Stryker’s earlier move into the vascular intervention market through its approximately US$4.9 billion purchase of Inari Medical in 2025.

Under the partnership, IVI will collaborate closely with institutions such as the Kenya Medical Research Institute, the Kenya BioVax Institute, and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board to support vaccine development, manufacturing, and regulatory strengthening.

The platform debuted across the UAE, France, Germany, Portugal, and the UK, with additional international rollouts planned in the coming months.

The facility will include inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, neuro-rehabilitation units, addiction recovery programs, and specialized treatment areas for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and child and adolescent psychiatry.

The pharmaceutical company submitted bids across several critical childhood immunisation categories, including the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV10), Rotavirus vaccine, and paediatric Hepatitis B vaccine.

Through the proposed partnership, Africa CDC and Aspen plan to establish a multi-year collaboration to boost local manufacturing capacity, improve supply security, and create sustainable markets for African-made vaccines.

CTTQ will also purchase a supply of bepirovirsen for an initial period of five and a half years, while GSK will record product sales from the arrangement, though the companies are not disclosing the financial value of the deal.

The initiative builds on PureLab’s expansive diagnostic footprint, which includes more than 145 laboratories, over 1,400 licensed clinical professionals, and more than 50 accreditations across its testing network.
