The acquisition includes MacroGenics’ biologics drug substance manufacturing facility in Rockville, Maryland, as well as a warehousing center in Frederick, Maryland, located about 30 miles away.
In addition, the investment will strengthen research into emerging treatment areas such as heart failure and renal denervation, a minimally invasive therapy for uncontrolled hypertension.
The acquisition follows Stryker’s earlier move into the vascular intervention market through its approximately US$4.9 billion purchase of Inari Medical in 2025.
