This groundbreaking feature automates the generation of initial doctor-ready treatment plans within just 15 minutes, marking a significant advancement in digital orthodontic care.

The innovation represents a major technological milestone in the Align™ Digital Platform, dramatically compressing the Invisalign treatment planning cycle from days to mere minutes.

Align has built ClinCheck Live Plan on its proprietary data and algorithms, drawing from decades of research and development alongside insights from doctors who have treated more than 21 million Invisalign patients worldwide.

Streamlining the doctor-patient experience

ClinCheck Live Plan empowers doctors to develop treatment plans in real-time during patient consultations.

After submitting an eligible case with Flex Rx, doctors receive a fully customized initial ClinCheck® treatment plan approximately 15 minutes later.

This rapid turnaround enables doctors to review proposed tooth movements and approve cases while patients remain in the office, accelerating the start of Invisalign treatment and enhancing both office efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Angelo Maura, General Manager of Align Technology for the Middle East and Africa, emphasized that ClinCheck Live Plan demonstrates the continued evolution of Invisalign’s digital treatment planning capabilities.

He explained that the system applies each doctor’s pre-configured clinical preferences while automating the creation of initial doctor-ready treatment plans, supporting greater workflow efficiency and streamlining the overall experience for both doctors and patients.

Maura expressed enthusiasm about bringing this new feature to the Middle East as part of the global rollout beginning in the first quarter of 2026, further strengthening the digital tools available to Invisalign-trained doctors throughout the region.

How the technology works

The process begins when an Invisalign doctor submits a new case using an iTero® intraoral scan and a completed Flex Rx prescription.

The ClinCheck Live Plan system automatically applies the doctor’s pre-configured clinical preferences, such as an Invisalign® Personalized Plan or another preferences template, to create a detailed three-dimensional plan.

The system then performs a series of quality checks to verify the treatment plan before returning it to the doctor for review within approximately 15 minutes.

Evolution of ClinCheck innovations

Between 2020 and 2022, Align launched the cloud-based ClinCheck® Pro 6.0 software and automated Invisalign® Personalized Plan templates.

In 2022, the company introduced the one-page Flex Rx prescription form for workflow simplification and ClinCheck Live Update, which provided three-dimensional controls for real-time doctor modifications.

In 2024, Align added Plan Editor, giving doctors direct control to modify treatment approaches in real-time.

Global Rollout and accessibility

Align plans to initiate the global rollout of ClinCheck Live Plan in the first quarter of 2026.

Invisalign-trained doctors who use the ClinCheck signature experience with a preferences template and the Flex Rx submission form will gain access to ClinCheck Live Plan for eligible products as the feature becomes available in their region.
