PureHealth deploys AI solution for Daman insurance processing

The solution will process more than 60 million documents annually and support faster access to services for more than three million Daman members across the UAE.

UAE—PureHealth has launched an artificial intelligence solution to streamline document processing at The National Health Insurance Company, Daman, and improve the efficiency of health insurance operations.

The solution will process more than 60 million documents annually and support faster access to services for more than three million Daman members across the UAE.

It is designed to convert more than 80 percent of documents into structured digital data, cutting processing times from several days to minutes.

The technology is also expected to reduce manual rework by more than 50 percent.

This will allow Daman teams to spend more time on activities such as fraud detection, clinical quality assurance and member support.

Faster and More Accurate Insurance Services

For Daman members and its network of healthcare providers, the system is designed to make insurance processes faster and more reliable.

By reducing manual data entry and identifying missing or incomplete information when documents are submitted, the solution can help minimise errors and reduce the need for follow-up.

The technology will support a range of policyholder requests, including enrolments, policy endorsements and complex claims.

It combines automation with improved data accuracy and consistency to simplify the processing of insurance information.

Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer of PureHealth, said artificial intelligence is reshaping healthcare and that healthcare financing is an important part of this transformation.

She said Daman’s AI solution integrates digital intelligence into core insurance operations, strengthening healthcare financing and supporting better outcomes for patients and providers.

She also linked the initiative to Abu Dhabi’s growing use of AI in healthcare.

AI Technology Integrated Into Insurance Workflows

The solution uses large language models, intelligent document classification and structured data extraction to convert policy applications into digital information and integrate them into existing workflows.

PureCS, a cloud and technology services provider and PureHealth subsidiary, developed the solution.

It combines proprietary technology designed for Daman’s operations with advanced AI capabilities to provide a scalable and secure platform for further applications.

Future uses are expected to include claims processing and prior authorisation, expanding the role of AI across Daman’s insurance operations.

Khaled Ateeq Aldhaheri, Chief Executive Officer of Daman, said the solution represents a significant step in how the insurer serves its members and healthcare partners.

He said automating millions of documents each year will help reduce errors, shorten turnaround times and simplify insurance processes.

According to Aldhaheri, the changes will support faster decisions and smoother interactions for members and providers.

The deployment forms part of Daman’s wider digital transformation and PureHealth’s efforts to expand the use of data and technology across healthcare financing and delivery.
