Burjeel Holdings establishes affordable healthcare platform across UAE

The restructuring forms part of Burjeel 2.0, the group’s transformation programme designed to align operations and establish clearer accountability for clinical outcomes, patient experience and financial performance.

UAE—Burjeel Holdings has established a dedicated affordable healthcare platform in the United Arab Emirates, bringing its LLH, Lifecare, and Medeor brands under unified leadership to expand community access and improve operational efficiency.

Dr Narendra D. Sonigra, previously Regional Director of Operations for the three brands in Abu Dhabi, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

He will oversee strategy, operations, clinical performance and business development across the platform, which focuses on affordable healthcare and industrial health services.

The restructuring forms part of Burjeel 2.0, the group’s transformation programme designed to align operations and establish clearer accountability for clinical outcomes, patient experience and financial performance.

The three brands will retain their individual identities while sharing leadership and operational resources.

Platform combines six hospitals and 24 clinics

The UAE platform comprises six hospitals, 24 medical centres and clinics, and more than 500 beds.

It includes Medeor hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, LLH facilities in Abu Dhabi and Musaffah, and Lifecare hospitals in Musaffah and Baniyas.

More than 2,400 physicians, nurses and allied health professionals support the network.

In 2025, the facilities recorded over 2.3 million outpatient visits and more than 61,000 admissions.

The platform contributed 22.5% of Burjeel Holdings’ group revenue in the 2025 financial year and 22.7% in the first half of 2026.

All six hospitals hold accreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI), which assesses healthcare organisations against established standards for patient safety and clinical quality.

Under the group’s clinical governance framework, the facilities provide primary, secondary, and multispecialty services, including complex surgical procedures.

New hospital and clinics planned

Burjeel Holdings plans to develop a 75-bed LLH Hospital in Jebel Ali, Dubai, to serve industrial workers and surrounding communities.

The hospital will provide emergency, occupational, primary and multispecialty care, with referral pathways to the group’s advanced treatment facilities.

The company also plans to open more than 10 clinics across the Emirates, targeting residential communities and major employment centres.

The expansion will extend access to healthcare in areas where proximity to medical facilities is important for families and industrial workforces.

The investment aligns with Burjeel’s strategy of expanding services in growing communities while using existing infrastructure and clinical resources more efficiently.

Brands target different patient groups

Each brand will serve a defined market segment.

LLH will focus on accessible community healthcare for middle- and lower-income populations, while Lifecare will serve industrial employees and neighbouring communities.

Medeor will continue to target middle-income expatriates and families in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The operating model combines more affordable pricing with a leaner cost structure, including more efficient workforce deployment.

Burjeel aims to maintain profitability comparable to its wider healthcare portfolio while applying consistent clinical quality and governance standards.

Primary care centres and clinics will also connect patients to the group’s broader hospital network.

Those requiring specialised treatment can be referred to tertiary and quaternary facilities, including Burjeel Medical City, before returning to local providers for follow up care where appropriate.

Unified leadership to oversee expansion

Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Burjeel Holdings, said the three brands had established relationships with the communities, families and workforces they serve.

He said the unified structure would provide a clearer framework for business development and more effective resource deployment, while bringing healthcare closer to people’s homes and workplaces.

Sonigra will oversee capacity utilisation, workforce planning, financial performance and service expansion across the platform.

The structure also supports coordinated procurement and service development, as Burjeel seeks to strengthen its relationships with employers, insurers and community healthcare users.
