The women’s health and fertility portfolio will cover several stages of reproductive health, including fertility, pregnancy and childbirth.

UAE—Mubadala Bio has signed a strategic partnership with Marcyrl Pharmaceutical Industries (Marcyrl Group) at the Future Health Summit in Abu Dhabi to localize women’s health, fertility and respiratory medicines and expand access to these treatments in the UAE.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Essam Mohamed, Group Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Bio, and Dr. George Saad, Chief Executive Officer of Marcyrl Group.
It covers a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical products, with additional medicines expected to join the portfolio over time.
Focus on women’s health and respiratory care
The women’s health and fertility portfolio will cover several stages of reproductive health, including fertility, pregnancy and childbirth.
It will also include treatments for common gynecological and hormonal conditions.
The respiratory portfolio will target acute and chronic conditions and include metered dose inhalers, dry powder inhalers, nebulization solutions and nasal sprays.
Both portfolios will be localized and distributed in the UAE, although the companies have not disclosed the products, investment value or implementation timeline.
Dr. Mohamed said localizing pharmaceutical products was central to developing a resilient life sciences ecosystem in the UAE.
He identified women’s health as a priority therapy area for Mubadala Bio and said the partnership would support the localization of a broader range of medicines while expanding access to essential treatments.
Dr. Saad said the agreement marked a step towards improving access to medicines in the UAE and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
He added that Marcyrl Group would contribute its manufacturing expertise in women’s health, fertility and respiratory care, while Mubadala Bio would provide its regional platform to support localization and patient access.
Strengthening local pharmaceutical capabilities
The partnership aligns with the UAE’s efforts to expand domestic pharmaceutical production and strengthen supply chain resilience.
Localizing more medicines can help diversify supply sources, reduce exposure to international disruptions and support the development of regional manufacturing capabilities.
For Marcyrl Group, the agreement provides a route to expand the reach of its women’s health, fertility and respiratory products in the UAE.
For Mubadala Bio, it adds to efforts to build local pharmaceutical capabilities and improve access to priority therapies.
The companies plan to distribute the localized products in the UAE, with further additions to the portfolio expected as the partnership develops.
