Alameda Healthcare Group partners with Pharco to strengthen chronic disease care in Egypt

Under the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on patient support programmes, public health awareness campaigns, and scientific and medical education.

EGYPT—Alameda Healthcare Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with Egyptian pharmaceutical company Pharco Corporation in Cairo to expand patient support, disease awareness, and medical education, focusing on chronic disease management.

The agreement was signed during the second edition of Alameda Healthcare Group’s Annual Conference at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile Hotel.

Dr Fahad Khater, Chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group, and Dr Sherine Helmy, Chairman of Pharco Corporation, signed on behalf of their organisations.

Senior executives attending the ceremony included Neeraj Mishra, Group Chief Executive Officer of Alameda Healthcare Group; Ezz Helmy, Chief Export Officer of Pharco Corporation; and Dr Mohamed Shawki, Corporate Commercial and Market Access Director at Pharco.

Joint programmes target chronic diseases

Under the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on patient support programmes, public health awareness campaigns, and scientific and medical education.

Planned activities include diabetes and hypertension screening, patient education initiatives, and training and scientific exchange for Alameda’s healthcare professionals.

The partners will develop agreed work plans to guide implementation.

All activities will follow applicable ethical, legal and regulatory requirements, with patient benefit guiding programme delivery.

The partnership brings together Alameda’s healthcare delivery network and Pharco’s pharmaceutical industry expertise.

Pharco comprises 13 companies operating across the pharmaceutical value chain, with its medicines reaching more than 60 markets.

The collaboration is intended to strengthen links between medicine development and supply, clinical services, disease prevention and patient education.

Healthcare leaders outline partnership priorities

Dr Khater said the agreement reflects Alameda’s strategy of expanding its healthcare network through partnerships that support clinical quality and integrated, patient-centred services.

Mishra said the next priority was to translate the agreement into practical programmes for patients and healthcare professionals, supported by clear implementation plans and measurable outcomes.

Dr Helmy said the partnership would strengthen cooperation between pharmaceutical manufacturers and healthcare providers.

He added that the pharmaceutical industry’s role extends beyond supplying safe and effective medicines to include raising disease awareness, encouraging early detection, supporting patients and providing continuing medical education.

He also highlighted the importance of exchanging scientific and clinical expertise to support healthcare delivery and improve patient care.

Strengthening links between industry and clinical care

The agreement reflects a broader approach to healthcare partnerships in which pharmaceutical companies and providers work together on prevention, early detection and ongoing disease management.

Diabetes and hypertension are major priorities for such initiatives because screening and patient education can help identify health risks and support long-term care.

For the partners, implementation will determine how the planned activities translate into measurable benefits for patients and healthcare professionals.

The collaboration will focus on patient support, disease awareness and medical education within the agreed framework.
