Cambridge Health Group opens new 200-bed specialist hospital in Jeddah

SAUDI ARABIA—Cambridge Health Group (CHG), a subsidiary of Amanat Holdings PJSC, has officially inaugurated the fully refurbished and expanded Cambridge Hospital Jeddah, transforming it into a 200-bed specialist facility now operating at full capacity.

The development marks another major step in the group’s regional growth strategy and strengthens its presence in Saudi Arabia’s fast-evolving healthcare sector.

CHG is currently the largest post-acute care provider in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with more than 700 beds across its network.

The group operates in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other regional markets, focusing on rehabilitation, long-term care, and specialist recovery services.

Major upgrade in Jeddah

The Jeddah hospital has undergone a comprehensive expansion, increasing capacity from 130 beds to 200 beds.

In addition, the facility now features upgraded patient rooms, enhanced clinical infrastructure, and expanded rehabilitation services designed to improve recovery outcomes.

The hospital also introduced dedicated therapy gyms and modern rehabilitation spaces, creating a more patient-centered environment.

These improvements are expected to meet the rising demand for specialist recovery care in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia.

The latest investment builds on CHG’s recent growth in the Kingdom.

In 2024, the group launched a 150-bed long-term care facility in Khobar, while in 2019 it opened a 70-bed rehabilitation hospital in Dhahran.

Further expansion plans

CHG has also announced plans to expand the Jeddah hospital by an additional 70 beds.

At the same time, the group intends to introduce outpatient and surgical services, which would broaden the hospital’s capabilities and strengthen its position as a leading provider of post-acute and rehabilitative care in western Saudi Arabia.

Leadership visit and market confidence

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Aldhaheri, Chairman of Cambridge Health Group, together with shareholder representatives.

During the visit, the delegation toured the upgraded hospital and met patients and families, who shared positive feedback about the improved environment and expanded rehabilitation services.

Dr. Aldhaheri said Saudi Arabia remains a key growth market for the group.

He added that the latest expansion reflects CHG’s long-term commitment to the Kingdom and confidence in the continued progress of its healthcare sector.

He noted that with more than 700 beds across the GCC and additional projects in development, the group aims to build the region’s leading post-acute care platform while delivering strong clinical outcomes.

Rising demand for specialist care

Dr. Mohammed Halawani, CHG’s Chief Executive Officer for Saudi Arabia, said the Jeddah hospital is already operating at full capacity, highlighting both the quality of care offered and the increasing demand for specialist rehabilitation and post-acute services.

He added that the expansion, together with the company’s ongoing pipeline, will improve patient access and support Saudi Arabia’s healthcare transformation goals under Vision 2030.
