UAE—Thumbay Group has officially launched Thumbay Medicity Dubai, a comprehensive academic healthcare destination in Al Qusais that integrates education, patient care, research, alternative medicine, laboratory services, home care, and innovation within a single medical city.

The ambitious project represents a “city within a city” concept and marks a strategic milestone for the Group in developing globally competitive healthcare ecosystems.

The expansive campus brings together multiple components, including a branch campus of Gulf Medical University, Thumbay University Hospital Dubai, advanced research facilities, simulation and skills centers, and a complete healthcare support network encompassing laboratories, pharmacies, wellness systems, and hospitality spaces.

A new international health-care hub

This launch establishes Dubai as a prominent international hub for academic healthcare, creating one of Thumbay Group’s largest and fastest-growing academic health systems.

The integrated model offers students the unique advantage of learning within actual clinical environments while providing patients with care directly supported by education and research initiatives.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, emphasized the significance of the project during the launch ceremony.

He described Thumbay Medicity Dubai as more than a simple expansion, calling it the next chapter of a vision rooted in a fundamental belief that education, healthcare, and research must develop in tandem.

“We are aligned with the Vision of Dubai, and the city now gains an integrated academic medical city built to shape future professionals, elevate patient care, and fuel new discoveries,” Dr. Moideen stated.

Our vision has always been global, but deeply human.”

He noted that the campus provides students access to contemporary education in one of the world’s most dynamic cities, reflecting the institution’s commitment to global exposure and developing future healthcare leaders.

Multi-specialty hospital and healthcare services

The healthcare zone is centered around Thumbay University Hospital Dubai, which will open in Phase One with specialized services such as renal dialysis, cardiology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation.

The facility will gradually expand into a comprehensive multi-specialty academic hospital offering a broad range of medical services.

Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of the Healthcare Division at Thumbay Group, emphasized Dubai’s emerging role as a major hub for the organization’s healthcare system.

He explained that integrating hospitals, laboratories, pharmacies, and medical tourism programs into a single destination demonstrates the Group’s clear focus on delivering accessible, compassionate care supported by academic excellence.

Strategic location and regional impact

Situated strategically on the Dubai-Sharjah border in Al Qusais, Thumbay Medicity offers convenient access to major population centers, international travel connections, and a thriving student and healthcare ecosystem.

The location positions the facility to serve diverse communities across both emirates while maintaining connectivity to global healthcare networks.
