Amana Healthcare Bahrain was established through a strategic partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund.

UAE—M42, a global health leader driven by artificial intelligence (AI), advanced technology, and genomics, has officially inaugurated Amana Healthcare Bahrain, marking a new milestone in regional healthcare development.

The inauguration ceremony took place under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and was attended by senior public and private sector officials.

Located in Al Jasra, the purpose-built, state-of-the-art hospital is M42’s first facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The development represents a major step in M42’s regional expansion strategy and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to investing in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to enhance healthcare quality and improve patient outcomes.

Amana Healthcare Bahrain was established through a strategic partnership with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund.

Designed as the first specialized long-term care and rehabilitation hospital in Bahrain, the facility will elevate the national continuum of care by providing dedicated space for post-acute and rehabilitative services.

This strategic addition allows acute-care hospitals to focus on their primary roles in emergency, surgical, and short-term medical treatment while ensuring patients requiring extended care receive the attention they need.

Speaking at the event, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, emphasized that the inauguration of Amana Healthcare Bahrain marks a key milestone in strengthening the Kingdom’s healthcare ecosystem.

He highlighted Mumtalakat’s commitment to investing in initiatives that create a meaningful local impact and drive the nation’s broader economic diversification agenda.

He added that the organization is proud to partner with M42 on this project and confident that the new facility will make a significant contribution to Bahrain’s healthcare landscape.

Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, noted that the opening of Amana Healthcare Bahrain represents a pivotal step in the company’s journey of regional growth.

He stressed that this initiative reinforces M42’s commitment to expanding access to specialized, patient-centered care across the GCC.

Moulavasilis further remarked that the partnership with Mumtalakat illustrates the potential of public-private collaboration to advance national healthcare priorities and deliver long-term, sustainable benefits to local communities.

The hospital spans more than 15,000 square meters and accommodates over 100 beds dedicated to long-term care and rehabilitation.

It is supported by a multidisciplinary team of 250 professionals, including clinicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff.

Beyond providing high-quality care, the facility contributes to job creation and offers extensive training programs to empower Bahrain’s growing healthcare workforce and nurture local talent.

Dr. Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at M42 and Chief Executive Officer of M42 Bahrain, stated that Amana Healthcare Bahrain was designed to deliver world-class long-term care and rehabilitation services closer to home.

He highlighted that the facility plays a crucial role in strengthening national healthcare capacity, supporting individuals with complex or chronic conditions, and maintaining seamless continuity of care.

Dr. AlSaati also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Bahraini clinicians, nurses, and therapists, describing them as the future leaders of advanced care in the Kingdom.

He added that for M42, the establishment of Amana Healthcare Bahrain is more than a physical expansion; it represents the beginning of a long-term partnership dedicated to advancing and sustaining Bahrain’s healthcare ecosystem through strategic investment, clinical expertise, and knowledge transfer.

The inauguration of this facility marks the first phase of M42’s broader investment strategy aimed at strengthening healthcare capabilities, expanding access to specialized services, and fostering healthier communities across the GCC and beyond.
