CHG partners with Middlesex University Dubai to advance GCC healthcare education

UAE—Cambridge Health Group (CHG), a subsidiary of Amanat Holdings PJSC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Middlesex University Dubai to strengthen healthcare education, research, innovation and workforce development across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

The agreement brings together one of the region’s largest post-acute healthcare providers and a leading international university.

Through the partnership, the two organisations aim to bridge academic knowledge with clinical expertise while supporting innovation, talent development and improved healthcare delivery.

The MoU was signed during a ceremony at Middlesex University Dubai attended by senior executives, including Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Aldhaheri, Chairman of Cambridge Health Group.

The partnership also comes shortly after Amanat Holdings completed its acquisition of the remaining 10.03% stake in Cambridge Health Group for AED105 million (US$28.6 million), making CHG a wholly owned subsidiary.

The move is expected to accelerate the group’s expansion plans and strengthen its position as a leading provider of post-acute and rehabilitative care across the GCC.

Driving research and digital innovation

Under the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate across five strategic areas. A major focus will be advancing research into the clinical, economic and social value of long-term and post-acute care.

Joint research projects will explore rehabilitation, integrated care and health economics.

The partners also plan to pursue collaborative research grants, publish scientific studies, organise conferences and promote knowledge sharing.

In addition, the collaboration will encourage innovation in digital healthcare.

Researchers and clinicians will work on projects involving artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, remote patient monitoring and healthcare data analytics to improve patient outcomes and support more efficient models of care.

Building the future healthcare workforce

The partnership also places strong emphasis on preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Students will benefit from graduate career programmes, internships, industry placements and applied research opportunities.

The two organisations will also develop executive education programmes, specialist training and professional certification courses to support continuous learning for healthcare workers.

Another key objective is the creation of Centres of Excellence focused on post-acute care and rehabilitation, digital health, artificial intelligence, predictive home care, dementia and healthy ageing.

These centres will promote interdisciplinary research and encourage collaboration between academia and healthcare practitioners.

Beyond education and research, Cambridge Health Group and Middlesex University Dubai will jointly deliver community health awareness campaigns, wellbeing initiatives, academic exchanges, industry advisory programmes and international partnerships.

Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Provost and Director of Middlesex University Dubai, said the collaboration demonstrates the university’s commitment to solving real-world healthcare challenges through education, research and innovation.

He added that combining academic excellence with clinical expertise will help improve healthcare delivery while preparing future healthcare leaders.
