Crown Prince Hussein inaugurates upgraded Jerash Healthcare Centre

JORDAN—His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein has officially opened the newly rehabilitated Jerash Comprehensive Healthcare Centre in Jordan.

The Crown Prince launched the rehabilitation project last year to improve healthcare service quality for citizens in Jerash and advance digital transformation in the health sector, according to a Royal Court statement.

The Ministry of Health implemented the project in cooperation with the Himmetna Health Association, combining governmental resources with community support to modernize the facility.

Expanding capacity and services

During the inauguration, Minister of Health Ibrahim Bdour and Himmetna President Fadia Samara briefed His Royal Highness on the refurbishment details.

The healthcare centre serves more than 70,000 patients annually from across Jerash Governorate and neighboring areas, making it a vital healthcare resource for the region.

Health Minister Bdour highlighted that the project reflects national efforts to develop primary healthcare centers as the first point of contact for diagnosing and treating patients.

He emphasized that transforming these facilities into modern, comprehensive centers that provide services seven days a week strengthens Jordan’s healthcare infrastructure and supports early disease detection.

Infrastructure development and new facilities

Himmetna President Samara explained that the project involved extensive work to expand the center and establish new administrative and support facilities.

The team developed the infrastructure to enable the provision of more efficient and better-organized primary healthcare services that meet contemporary standards.

The rehabilitation project introduced several new clinics to the center, including internal medicine, telemedicine, orthopedics, and mental health services.

These additions allow the facility to meet community needs in a broader and more comprehensive manner, addressing gaps in specialized care availability.

Improving patient experience

Samara added that the project prioritized improving the patient journey through strategic operational changes.

The team streamlined patient admission and discharge procedures while implementing measures to reduce waiting times significantly.

The upgraded center now offers extended operating hours throughout the week, ensuring that residents have consistent access to quality healthcare services.
