The platform debuted across the UAE, France, Germany, Portugal, and the UK, with additional international rollouts planned in the coming months.

UAE—M42 and its renal care arm Diaverum have launched kidney.com, an AI-powered kidney health assistant designed to improve public awareness and support early management of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
The platform debuted across the UAE, France, Germany, Portugal, and the UK, with additional international rollouts planned in the coming months.
The new digital platform provides free, personalized kidney health education through a conversational AI interface trained on trusted clinical resources and evidence-based medical information.
The system adapts its responses to individual users, helping them better understand kidney conditions, lifestyle risks, and preventive care options.
M42 developed kidney.com in partnership with more than 30 nephrologists, physicians, and nurses from 13 countries.
During testing, the platform completed over 14,000 chat interactions to refine its accuracy and usability before its public launch.
Users can also access voice control, upload product labels for interpretation, and interact with the platform in English, Arabic, French, German, and Portuguese, while more language options are under development.
Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, said the company aims to use advanced AI technologies to help people make more informed health decisions.
He explained that kidney.com combines clinical expertise with natural-language AI to address one of the world’s fastest-growing chronic diseases while promoting prevention and earlier intervention.
Rising burden of Chronic Kidney Disease
CKD remains one of the most expensive chronic conditions for healthcare systems globally. In Europe, annual CKD-related healthcare costs reach approximately €140 billion (US$152 billion).
Meanwhile, in the UAE, studies estimate that between 4% and 5% of adults live with CKD, with prevalence increasing significantly among older populations.
The launch also aligns with M42’s broader expansion in AI-driven healthcare and renal services.
In recent days, the company announced the expansion of Diaverum’s operations into Brazil through the acquisition of four dialysis clinics in São Paulo state, strengthening its renal care footprint in Latin America.
Additionally, M42 recently formalized its expansion into Saudi Arabia, where Diaverum already operates more than 40 renal care clinics across 33 cities.
The company plans to further integrate AI, genomics, and digital health technologies into chronic disease management programs across the region.
Supporting patients and clinicians
Rafael Romanini, Chief Executive Officer of Diaverum, said the platform extends the company’s patient-centered philosophy into the digital space by making kidney health information accessible around the clock.
He added that education and prevention remain essential tools for slowing disease progression and improving patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Fernando Macario, Chief Medical Officer at M42, noted that better-informed patients often experience improved treatment adherence and fewer complications.
He explained that kidney.com translates complex renal care information into simplified guidance that supports clinicians rather than replacing medical professionals.
Although kidney.com does not diagnose diseases or recommend treatments, the platform complements professional medical advice and complies with applicable privacy and data protection regulations across its operating markets.
