ADNOC partners with Burjeel Holdings to expand integrated healthcare services in Al Dhafra region

The initiative builds on the partnership that began after ADNOC appointed Burjeel Holdings as the medical operator of Al Dhannah Hospital in 2023.

UAE—ADNOC and Burjeel Holdings are expanding healthcare services across Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra Region to improve access to integrated care for employees, their families and the wider community.

The initiative builds on the partnership that began after ADNOC appointed Burjeel Holdings as the medical operator of Al Dhannah Hospital in 2023.

Under the next phase of the partnership, the two organizations are exploring a more integrated healthcare model that combines clinical services with occupational health, preventive medicine, wellness, digital health and healthy ageing.

The approach is intended to link different areas of care and place greater emphasis on prevention and early intervention.

Khalid Al Hosani, Acting Executive Vice President, Group Business Support at ADNOC, said the health and wellbeing of the company’s employees, their families and the communities where it operates remain a strategic priority.

He added that the partnership with Burjeel Holdings supports ADNOC’s efforts to expand access to healthcare, strengthen preventive and occupational health services, and improve health outcomes.

Expanding the healthcare ecosystem

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings, said the next phase would extend the partnership beyond hospital operations to develop an integrated healthcare ecosystem for the Al Dhafra Region.

The proposed model would connect occupational health, preventive services, specialist care, digital health and advanced clinical services around the needs of ADNOC employees, their families and the wider population.

This would create closer links between workplace health programs and services delivered through hospitals and outpatient facilities.

One initiative under consideration is the transformation of ADNOC’s Occupational Medical Center into an integrated “One Health Hub.”

The proposed facility would bring occupational health services together with preventive care and health promotion programs, creating a broader platform for managing employee health.

The organizations are also assessing opportunities to expand outpatient and day surgery services across Al Dhafra.

Such services could provide additional treatment options outside traditional inpatient settings while delivering specialist care closer to the communities served.

Focus on prevention and digital health

The partnership also reflects broader changes in healthcare delivery across the Gulf, where healthcare providers and large employers are increasingly integrating preventive care, occupational health and digital technologies into service models.

For ADNOC, integrating occupational and clinical services could support a more coordinated approach to employee health, particularly for a workforce operating across industrial and energy facilities.

Preventive programs can also complement clinical services by focusing on health risks before they require more intensive treatment.

For Burjeel Holdings, the collaboration provides an opportunity to expand its role in delivering healthcare services across Al Dhafra while developing connected services that span prevention, diagnosis, treatment and longer-term health management.

The partnership is also aligned with Abu Dhabi’s efforts to develop healthcare services that emphasize prevention, digital transformation, sustainability and patient-centered care.

The organizations are continuing to assess the proposed initiatives and the potential expansion of services across the region.
