This new division integrates operations from 16 hospitals, numerous primary care clinics, and state-of-the-art laboratories.

UAE—PureHealth has unveiled the Abu Dhabi Health Research Centre (ADHRC), a centralized hub that unites all clinical research efforts across its network in Abu Dhabi.
This new division integrates operations from 16 hospitals, numerous primary care clinics, and state-of-the-art laboratories.
By streamlining these resources, ADHRC streamlines the entire research process, from initial protocol design and patient recruitment to regulatory approvals, advanced data analysis, and final scientific publications.
Officials formally introduced the centre at the ADHRC Research Conference 2025, a landmark event held recently in Abu Dhabi.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) backed the conference, which drew top global experts to spark new collaborations in clinical trials and scientific breakthroughs.
This gathering highlighted Abu Dhabi’s rising role in worldwide healthcare progress and reinforced PureHealth’s dedication to turning research into real-world medical advances, including precision medicine tailored to individual patients.
ADHRC now manages over 100 ongoing clinical studies.
More than 300 principal investigators lead these efforts, supported by a team of over 700 scientists.
The centre collaborates closely with government bodies, leading biopharmaceutical companies, and prestigious academic institutions.
Together, they focus on research that aligns with Abu Dhabi’s key healthcare goals, such as tackling pressing public health challenges and pioneering new treatments.
Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, praised the initiative during the conference.
She emphasized that pooling the strengths of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem drives the emirate’s vision for science-led healthcare improvements.
“The establishment of the Abu Dhabi Health Research Centre marks a key milestone,” she stated.
“It consolidates our research strengths and propels high-impact clinical studies that enhance lives both locally and around the world.”
Dr. Al Ghaithi added that this move solidifies Abu Dhabi’s status as a global leader in life sciences.
By empowering partners like PureHealth to conduct ethical, high-quality research, the DoH accelerates discoveries and betters patient care everywhere.
Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer of PureHealth, described the launch as a pivotal step in the UAE’s healthcare evolution.
“We consolidate our research under this unified centre to build on PureHealth’s rich history in medical studies,” she said.
This setup speeds up the creation of groundbreaking therapies and directly improves patient results.
Asif stressed that scientific rigor, large-scale operations, and a firm focus on healthier, longer lives fuel this change.
Ultimately, ADHRC cements Abu Dhabi’s spot as an international powerhouse for healthcare innovation.
