Mercy Ships first arrived in Ghana in 1991 and has since worked with the government to provide more than 2,670 surgical procedures and over 18,120 dental procedures.

The centres will provide comprehensive services, including antenatal and postnatal care, labour and recovery services, obstetric care, Caesarean sections, theatres, maternal and neonatal intensive care, neonatal intensive care units and post-Caesarean wards.

The procedure marks another milestone for the UAE in treating complex pediatric immune disorders and expanding access to advanced bone marrow transplantation.

The appointments will see Dr. Patel take over the chairmanship from Dr. Manoj Shah, who has led the Board through a period of significant development for the Nairobi-based hospital.
